WHAT WE DO

PROGRAMME: THE EXPLORERS

In collaboration with our local volunteers in Honduras, we have developed the Explorers programme. The program places emphasis on how the grant recipients can take care of themselves, be active in the society around them and give them good tools in the face of daily challenges.

All our work is based on the programme, and is based on the three goals we work from; Education, Health and Social Development.

EDUCATION

Scholarship

We provide study support to individual students who need it in order to complete their schooling. The support is given according to each recipient's needs. Some recipients receive uniforms, others get books, others get money for transport, while someone gets everything. We provide support from kindergarten to university.

Homework and teaching help

We have give help with homework and extra teaching the children in the programme, to help those who struggle. The homework they do is part of the basis for passing each term at school

Information work
We hold lectures for children and young people, and their guardians, on current topics, including hygiene, diseases and nutrition. The focus is on preventive work.

Training of volunteers
Apart from this, we also train our volunteers, to make it possible for them to contribute in the best possible way to our work.

HEALTH

Dining room
We offer food several times a week to the participants in the Explorers. Children in the local area are generally malnourished or malnourished,

Medical brigades
We support local brigades (health personnel who provide free healthcare) with the practical aspects of the work they do in the local communities in which we work.

Health care
When we have the opportunity, we help the participants in our program with the necessary health care.

SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT

Leisure activities and social celebrations
We make it possible for children and young people to have a safe place for leisure activities and we aim to be able to offer various activities throughout the year. Among other things, we organize a camp with accommodation for the children once a year.

Voluntary work in the local community
Our beneficiaries/guardians contribute with voluntary work in and for the local community. It could be clearing rubbish, helping the elderly and the like.

Course in "Alternative to violence"
We have volunteers who are trained in the Programa Alternativa de Violencia (PAV), a program designed to give people an alternative to violence in the face of external and internal challenges. The course can be a single course over 4 intensive days, or a series of such courses over 4 x 4 days.
